"Go Native II"

So it was with enthusiasm that The San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment (SLOPE) agreed to partner with The Atascadero Native Association (ANTA) in 2003 on an event that would benefit ANTA in their efforts to preserve, protect and enhance the native woodlands of Northern San Luis Obispo County.

Following a successful event in 2003, SLOPE and ANTA are again working together. GO NATIVE II will be held at the Pavilion on the Lake in Atascadero on Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 1-5pm.

SLOPE  is a group of well known professional artists committed to preserving the beauty of the land that they love to paint. Artists include Alfredo Arciniaga, John Barnard, Nancy Becker, Dotty Hawthorne, Anne Laddon, Fayrene Parrish, Shirley Pittman, Eileen Pritchard, Denise Schryver, Rosanne Seitz, Laurel Sherrie and Jeanette Wolff. They have been holding several paintouts a month for over a year painting the native forests, vegetation and landscapes of the Upper Salinas River Watershed and Northern San Luis Obispo County.

Over 50 original paintings in watercolor, pastel and oil as well as cards and prints will be on display and available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of these paintings will benefit the on-going conservation efforts of ANTA.
